It’s a very exciting day today at the Georgia Aquarium! The beluga whales have returned, and today is their debut day!
Now, I know that the purpose of this site is to highlight events and places off the beaten path – or at least not just highlight the “normal” tourist-y spots that everyone already knows about. Yes, the Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the world, and yes, they get LOTS of publicity and attention…
But if you had been to Georgia Aquarium to see the beluga whales when they were there before, you know how majestic and awe-inspiring they are. I, personally, could just sit and watch them all day! The two times I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the Aquarium, I’ve spent the most time just watching the belugas – how cool that they’re back!
After a lot of speculation swirled around following their departure in the fall – and the sudden death of one of the whales – they have returned to Atlanta to enchant us with their amazing grace and beauty. (To read the story of their return, click here.)
So if you’ve never experienced the Georgia Aquarium, but especially if you’ve never seen the beautiful belugas, make plans now to be amazed!
