My husband has been bugging me to try Yogli-Mogli with him for weeks because he likes the name. (If you haven’t heard of it, don’t be alarmed – it’s only a year old, opened in 2009.) So we went last weekend and found out why this little frozen yogurt shop with the quirky name is so yummy.
First of all, it’s self-serve – the large one-size-fits-all cups kind of confused me (“Where’s the small? Where’s the kid-size?”). But since it’s self-serve, you can get as much or as little as you’d like. Kind of tests your will-power, but it’s nice to be in control of your yogurt-eating destiny.
Second, you pay by the ounce – 39-cents an ounce, to be exact. Well, there’s my motivation for will-power. The less I get, the less I pay, the less I eat – works for me!
Third (and this is the best part), there are 16 flavors, which you can combine into lots and lots (I don’t do math) of heavenly combos. Add to that the buffet-style toppings – 12 fruits and 24 sweets – and you have a recipe for yumminess!
I tried the peach swirled with the acai blueberry, topped with fresh blueberries and kiwi. Hubby had the cookies and cream yogurt topped with butterfinger and oreo pieces. Needless to say, we really, really liked it.
It doesn’t feel like a yogurt chain (since it’s not) but they are expanding locally to include (according to their website) East Cobb (now open), Alpharetta, Buckhead, Marietta and Midtown. But why wait? Just head on over to Sandy Springs and check it out – located at Abernathy Square, at the corner of Abernathy and Roswell Road.
And (in case you’re wondering), Yogli Mogli meets National Yogurt Association Criteria for Live and Active Culture Yogurt and is Kosher-Dairy Certified!
