Last night, my hubby and I ate at Relish in Roswell, Georgia. Part of The Condiment Group (Fickle Pickle, All Y’Alls Wine & Gourmet), Relish serves up “new southern” cuisine. In short, it’s scrumptious.
We sampled a few nibbles – a sampler platter on which you pick three of the following: fried black-eyed peas, deviled egg, sour cream cornbread, Cajun peanuts, and candied pecans. We tried the first three (pictured). I can tell you two things: fried black-eyed peas are crackly, crunchy little bits of goodness, and any place that serves deviled eggs is all right by me.
Our entrées were equally yummy: I tried the smoked trout salad with apples, candied pecans and a Vidalia onion dressing that is to die for, and the hubby had the grilled grouper sandwich, which was equal parts mouthwatering and enormous!
While we didn’t have room for dessert after our appetizers and entrées, I can tell you that they were indeed tempting, despite our full tummies, especially the fried peach pie and (dear God, it was hard to resist this one) the Krispy Kreme bread pudding! I am definitely going to have to return with a larger appetite – or at least with the plan to have dessert for dinner because those dessert options are certainly not ones I am willing to forego forever.
Tell them 365Atlanta sent you!
