#65 – 1st Annual Georgia Food Bloggers Bake Sale – Cabbagetown Market – Benefiting Share Our Strength

Satisfy your sweet tooth today by checking out the 1st Annual Georgia Food Bloggers Bake Sale! Taking place at Cabbagetown Market in the heart of the Cabbagetown area of Atlanta from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM today, Saturday, April 17, 2010.

This bake sale is just one of many of its kind – thousands of Americans are signing up to participate in Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale, presented by Domino Sugar and C&H Sugar, in a national effort that encourages individuals to help end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities. The money raised through Great American Bake Sale will support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America by helping fund afterschool and summer feeding program.

From the tweets I’ve been reading, written by some of the Atlanta bloggers and bakers, I can tell you this is not your average PTA-style bake sale – these are goodies baked by some of Atlanta’s best food bloggers, food writers and bakers! Some of the scrumptious sweets and savories I’ve been seeing on twitter are making my mouth water: fresh Croissants, Brioche, and Chocolate Flourless Cake; Chocolate Guinness Cake; Rosemary Shortbread Cookies; Dulce de Leche Brownies, Banana Bread with Ginger, and Scones… and the list goes on! I am headed down there first thing this morning to make sure I can get a great selection of treats!

Parking is available at Agave Restaurant (located just around the corner) – Agave is also giving a $10-off coupon (1 per person) for your next visit to Agave for all who purchase at the bake sale. If you can’t make it to the Bake Sale and you’re interested in making a donation, you can visit the Bake Sale website to make a contribution.
