This has been one busy weekend in Atlanta – with festivals, bake sales, art shows, carnivals, and the list goes on. By today, you may be ready to sit back and relax and just enjoy a good movie.
Instead of heading to your local movie theatre, why not check out the Atlanta Film Festival? The 34th Atlanta Film Festival opened on Thursday night and runs through Friday, April 23, 2010. There’s still plenty of time left for you to choose a few films and enjoy a different moviegoing experience. There’s just something really cool about seeing a movie no one else has seen, the feeling of discovering a new favorite. For a complete schedule of film screenings, click here.
In addition to film screenings, the Festival hosts Starbucks Coffeehouse Conversations, daily (through April 22, 2010) casual discussions about film topics outside of the screening. There’s also a Closing Night Extravaganza, which will take place at 14th Street Playhouse and celebrate the success and conclusion of the festival.
And if you need more convincing, here are some fun facts about the Atlanta Film Festival – straight from their own website; should be enough to convince you to check it out!
