The Dunwoody Art Festival is this weekend and it’s a great place to bring Mom for Mother’s Day! This event is a very special art festival featuring whimsical and colorful hand-made art by artisans from all over the country. Artist booths are filled by invitation only, so you can be sure that the art is high-quality and sure to amaze and delight. With over 200 booths in such mediums as clay, jewelry, folk art, metal, glass, mixed media, painting, photography, wood and more, there is something for everyone.
In addition, there is plenty to food at the food court and numerous eateries and two full days of live music and entertainment. There’s also a plethora of art activities for kids, including a free interactive art experience sponsored by the Purple Hippo Art Studio. And plan to take part in the “Chairs for Charity auction, during which chairs decorated by students from DeKalb’s elementary, middle and high school students in the Dunwoody area will be auctioned off to benefit the school’s art programs and various charitable projects supported by the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. Be sure to visit the festival’s Kid Zone to view and bid on these funky, cool, and artistic multi-media pieces by Dunwoody’s own students!
Festival hours are Saturday, May 8 from 10AM to 7PM and Sunday, May 9 from 12:30PM to 6PM. For information on parking and directions, as well as other important information about the festival, please visit the Dunwoody Art Festival website. See you this weekend at the Dunwoody Art Festival!
