The 33rd Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival is this weekend – Saturday and Sunday, May 29-30, 2010 – at Piedmont Park. It’s the nation’s largest FREE jazz festival and it’s right here in our own backyard!
Pack up your blanket and your picnic basket and head down to Piedmont Park (I recommend taking MARTA – parking can be difficult for festivals!) to enjoy some fantastic live music. The event is produced by the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs and celebrates jazz legends and up-and-coming jazz musicians. Some of yesterday’s and today’s best jazz musicians are in this weekend’s line-up – click here for a preview of who you’ll be seeing.
Atlanta’s Jazz Fest is one of the most fun and most diverse jazz festivals I’ve attended, and it features some of the best music – it certainly gives jazz festivals in other cities across the country a run for their money! And as with many Atlanta festivals this year, the Atlanta Jazz Fest is striving to be a more green event – click here for more details, which is good for the festival as well as for our great city! The live music starts both days, Saturday and Sunday, at 2:00 PM – plan now to check it out!
