The heat in Atlanta has been nearly unbearable – I find myself not wanting to leave the house and the oasis of ice-cold air conditioning. Here’s a reason to leave the house today, though: the Atlanta Summer Beer Festival is tonight from 5:00 to 10:00 PM.
The organizers of the Atlanta Summer Beer Fest are striving to make this the coolest beer festival you will attend this year. Pouring 6-oz. tastings (instead of the usual 2- to 3-oz. at other festivals) of the celebrated beers – Sweetwater, Terrapin, and Red Brick, as well as a few others – they say, “We want you to enjoy your beer, not just taste it. If you ask nicely, we may even fill your cup.” Besides the beer (well, what’s really important other than the beer?), fun and games will definitely ensue, with Beer Pong, Flip Cup and Cornhole, as well as a dunking booth and sets by Atlanta band, Stokeswood.
Tickets are available in advance online from the Atlanta Beer Fest website for $25.00 or at the event on Saturday for $30.00 (until they sell out).
Can’t get enough from 5:00 to 10:00 PM? Join the after party, which is free with your festival admission.
