Summer in Atlanta means outdoor movies, music, festivals and fun. Flicks on 5th, produced by the Georgia Tech Student Center, is a Midtown favorite, an outdoor summer film series, continuing Wednesdays through July 21, 2010. The best part is, it’s FREE! (Who says a night out at the movies needs to break the bank?) Enjoy some favorite current films on a huge outdoor screen, and get FREE popcorn while enjoying the movie. Tonight’s selection is Oscar-nominated film The Hurt Locker.  The remaining schedule is:

July 7 – The Hurt Locker (R)
July 14 – Fantastic Mr. Fox (PG)
July 21 –  Hot Tub Time Machine (R)

Movies begin around 9:00 PM, once it gets dark, so there’s plenty of time for you to grab a bite to eat beforehand, and still arrive early enough to get a great place to sit. Restaurants on 5th near Technology Square offer some great deals for pre-movie dining – for a list of restaurants and specials, visit the Flicks on 5th website.

So why not gather a group of friends and enjoy a FREE movie? Grab some lawn chairs, beach chairs or a blanket or two! Only three more weeks of Flicks on 5th remain for the summer – get on out and enjoy a movie under the stars in Atlanta!

WHERE: Flicks on 5th – Technology Square (5th Street, between Spring St. and Williams St.)
