#149 – 5th Annual Summer Rejuvenation at Ford Smith Gallery – Sip Cool Sangria and Enjoy Hot New Art
Spend this sultry July evening sipping on fresh, cool sangria and enjoying beautiful art with one of the nation’s hottest artists, Ford Smith, at the Ford Smith Gallery. A gourmet spread and cool drinks accompany Ford’s most premier limited edition giclees and brand new original paintings. The event is this evening, July 9, 2010 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
The entire gallery has been completely rejuvenated with brand new art – original paintings, limited editions and more. Ford Smith is a resident of Roswell and is known for his extraordinary contemporary abstract landscape paintings.
This year there will also be a silent auction, offering five Ford Smith miniature limited edition giclées on museum quality paper. (If you’re wondering, like I was, what giclées are, here is the explanation from Ford Smith’s website: “Pronounced “jee-clay” or “zhee-clay”, the word giclée is derived from a French word meaning “to spray or to squirt.” In the simplest term, it is a digital fine art reproduction.) They are signed and numbered by Ford and ready to take home for the lucky bidders!
This fun event is totally free! RSVP with the number in your party via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 770-552-5942.
If you won’t be able to make tonight’s event but want to learn more about Ford Smith’s art or tour the gallery, their normal business hours are: Monday – By Appointment; Tuesday – Thursday 11am – 5pm; Friday – Saturday 11am – 6pm; Sunday 1pm – 5pm.
