#172 – Jazz on the Lawn Tonight at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center – Pack a Blanket and a Picnic and Enjoy Jazz Under the Stars! July 30 and August 13, 2010
Looking for something to do on this Friday evening? Perhaps a little music under the stars sounds good to you after a stressful, hectic week? I recommend Jazz on the Lawn at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center.
Located just a couple of miles from Midtown, between the Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills neighborhoods, Callanwolde’s Jazz on the Lawn summer concert series has become a summer staple. It’s the perfect way to end a long week. Just pack a blanket and a picnic and pull up a spot on the lawn to enjoy some of the best jazz artists in the area.
Tonight – Friday, July 30, 2010 at 7:30 PM – you can enjoy the contemporary jazz fusion stylings of Madoca and Company (pictured – above), a Japanese-American musician and keyboardist who has headlined all around Atlanta.
Can’t make it tonight? You have one more chance to catch Jazz on the Lawn before it’s gone for the summer. Mark your calendar for Friday, August 13, 2010 at 7:30 PM to see Gwen Hughes (pictured – right) perform with her band, The Retro Jazz Cats, as they bring their unique brand of swing jazz to Callenwolde’s summer jazz series.
Tickets are $15 for advance purchase online or $20 at the door. Parking is complimentary and on-site. In case of rain, the concertwill be moved to the indoor courtyard – so plan to go, rain or shine!
