What’s more “Georgia” than great barbecue and, well, peaches?
Pigs & Peaches has become one of the premiere barbecue events in North Georgia. A Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event and professional contest, Pigs & Peaches is recognized as a Georgia State Championship Barbeque Cookoff! Prizes totaling over $14,000 in cash and prizes to be awaded to the barbecue category winners, as well as the additional “Anything Butt” (totally love that name!) and the “Peach Dessert” (my mouth is watering just thinking about peach desserts…) contests. With tons of delicious food for sale, delicious smoke-cooked barbequed meats, tasty desserts, family fun and live entertainment, this is one barbecue festival you will not want to miss.
What BBQ festival is complete without live music – on three stages, no less! There’s fantastic live music all through out the festival, on the Acoustic Stage, Blues Stage and Main Stage. The main stage has great music both nights: on Friday, you can enjoy Roger “Hurricane” Wilson (feat. Steve Gornall) at 5:30 PM and A1A – The Official & Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show at 8:00 PM, and on Saturday, The Folsom Prison Gang at 5:00 PM and Butch and The Buckheads at 8:00 PM. You can even reserve priority seating for tables of six for just $40.00 per table! (For a complete list of musical guests and their performance times, visit the Pigs & Peaches website.)
Additionally, there’s something to satisfy the entire family, including a huge Kids Zone, helicopter rides, ponies, unique vendors, lots of food booths and sponsor exhibits. There’s even a double-elimination Guitar Hero Challenge, a KenneSong talent competition, and much more fun!
Festival hours are Friday, August 20 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Saturday, August 21 from 10:00 to 10:00 PM.
