It’s a big weekend for BBQ in Atlanta! With the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival yesterday and today in Kennesaw, and the 10th Annual Decatur BBQ, Blues + Bluegrass Festival today! You can probably make it to both…if you’re just that hardcore!
From 4:00 until 10:00 PM today – Saturday, August 21, 2010 – you can enjoy the obvious, BBQ, blues, and bluegrass, in Decatur’s beautiful Harmony Park. Hosted by three Decatur-area non-profit groups, the Community Center of South Decatur, the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association and the Decatur Recreation Department, the monies raised at the festival go straight back into the Decatur community, which means you can feel good about your $10 admission fee being put to good use (ages 10 to 20 are just $5 and children under 10 are FREE).
Delicious BBQ will be served up by some of the best local BBQ chefs – Black Tie BBQ and Five Star BBQ – think ribs, pulled pork, and lots of other mouthwatering choices! Wash it all down with a great selection of refreshing beers (BBQ/food ranges from $5-10, and beers range from $3-4, depending on what you choose). There are even vegetarian options, so if you don’t eat meat, don’t stay away just because it’s a BBQ festival!
With all this mention of smoky, delicious goodness (you know, the BBQ!), don’t forget the line-up of live music. Six hours of live music provide the soundtrack for your day and complete your festival experience.
