#227 – Sixth Annual “A Tribute To Our Quiet Heroes” Benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer – Saturday, September 25, 2010
You are cordially invited to attend the 6th Annual “A Tribute To Our Quiet Heroes” Benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer. This inspiring event, hosted by Chris Glavine, wife of former Major League Baseball player Tom Glavine, who helped launch the inaugural event five years ago, has raised more than $1 million for pediatric cancer research since its inception in 2005.
On Saturday, September 25, 2010, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, treat yourself to an elegant brunch and a moving experience. The emcee for the event is Emmy-award winning news anchor Jill Becker of 11 Alive, herself the mother of a childhood cancer survivor, and the featured speaker will be Nancy Keene, author and co-author of several books for families of children with cancer, including Childhood Leukemia and Childhood Cancer. In addition to these wonderful honored guests and speakers, there will be silent and live auctions featuring truly incredible items, such as a diamond necklace, a fully-loaded iPad with case and accessories, a 52″ Sony HD TV with installation, dinner with Chris and Tom Glavine, a Macbook Pro and 2011 Masters’ Tournament final round badges. There are also two truly priceless items up for bid: an autographed Justin Bieber guitar and an opportunity for one lucky Little League team to receive coaching from Tom Glavine at his home and play baseball on the infield in his Country Club of the South backyard! You can begin bidding silently on these items online, until 6:00 PM on September 22, 2010 by emailing your bid to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets to the event are $125 each and can be purchased online through the Quiet Heroes website. You can also purchase raffle ticket through the same link (raffle tickets are $20.00 each).
This truly is a remarkable and worthwhile event for a wonderful cause. Whether or not you can attend, I encourage you to visit the CURE Childhood Cancer website and consider giving them your support in whatever way you can.
