#259 – Save Your Appetites for the 9th Annual Taste of Atlanta This Weekend – Saturday and Sunday, October 23 & 24, 2010
Taste of Atlanta, one of the city’s largest and most anticipated food events, is this weekend – Saturday and Sunday, October 23 & 24, 2010. Start saving up your appetite now. I know I’m saving up mine…and saving up calories, too – I’m gonna need ’em!
Featuring more than 80 of the city’s best restaurants, this tasty event attracts food and wine lovers from all over Atlanta, the Southeast and beyond. You’re invited to see cooking demos from national and local chefs on three cooking stages – chefs such as Top Chef Season 6 winner Kevin Gillespie, James Beard Best Chef Southeast Lou Osteen, and the Cooking Light Casting Call and Final Round for Healthy Cook of the Year.
The Taste of Atlanta experience also includes the Farm to Festival Market, where you can learn about the sustainable and organic food movement and shopping at a farmer’s market with fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses and other produce; the Go Green Village, with great tips on how you can live a more green lifestyle; explore the Family Food Zone with food-focused arts and crafts, cooking lessons and yummy treats; and relax while listening to live local music.
Tickets for Taste of Atlanta are $25.00 in advance (before 11:59 PM on Friday, October 22, 2010) or $35.00 at the gate. Each purchased admission ticket includes 15 “taste tickets” which can be redeemed for samples of food at the chefs’ tents. Additional taste tickets can be purchased on site. Children under 13 are FREE with a paid adult admission, but taste tickets much be purchased for their tastes. A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for $75.00 each and allow admission into special VIP-only areas, including the Wine + Beer + Cocktail Experience, the VIP Tasting Tents and educational seminars (VIP tickets include 20 taste tickets – must be 21+ to purchase).
Taste of Atlanta is located in Midtown’s Technology Square and is open Saturday and Sunday, October 23 & 24, 2010 from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
