The 2nd Annual Dunwoody Music Festival is this weekend – Saturday and Sunday, October 23 & 24, 2010. With so much happening in two days, it’s much more than a music festival, but the music is the main focus of the weekend.
Thirty-two hours of music on two stages throughout the weekend, including Atlanta’s own Banks & Shane playing at 3:30 PM on Saturday and a Battle of the Bands on Sunday, which rewards the winner with the grand prize of eight hours of free recording studio time!
There’s also a Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, starting at 10:00 AM, with two divisions: Professional and Back-Yard. You’ll have an opportunity to taste the contestants’ creations and cast your vote for the “People’s Choice” award!
Saturday evening also marks the beginning of a new Dunwoody, so to speak. Saturday at 6:30 PM, the City of Dunwoody is unveiling its new branding, at the main festival stage, to be followed by a celebratory fireworks display.
Sunday features an antique car show, lots more music, and a raffle for a SmartCar – with raffle tickets for only $25 and the proceeds benefiting Brook Run Park rejuvenation!
The Dunwoody Music Festival is open on Saturday, October 23 from 10:00 AM until dusk (following the fireworks display) and Sunday, October 24 from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Blankets and chairs are welcome, but no coolers will be permitted in the festival. Tickets are just $10.00 per person; children 11 and under are free. You can purchase tickets online ahead of time by clicking here. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit your Dunwoody Middle & High School arts programs, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and your non-profit Dunwoody Chamber.
