#264 – 5th Annual Parktoberfest in Whittier Mill Village Today – Dessert Contest, Bocce Tournament & More – Saturday, October 23, 2010
With all of the festivals Atlanta has to offer, it’s refreshing to find one that offers something a little bit different – not that we don’t enjoy a good battle of the bands, artist market, or beer festival! Those things are right up our alley, but here’s a fall festival that offers a something off the beaten path for festivals.
The 5th Annual Parktoberfest is tomorrow – Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM – in historic Whittier Mill Village, located just west of Buckhead. No festival in Atlanta is complete without delicious eats and cold beer, so there will be (of course) Hottie Hawg’s BBQ and local craft beer, as well as live music from a variety of bands.
So: BBQ – check! Local craft beer – check! Live music – check! So what makes it different?
The day also features a Bocce Ball Tournament, open to all (you must be on a team of four, with a captain – email the coordinators at email@example.com to register) on Whittier Mill Park’s regulation bocce ball court, with prizes for the top four teams. There’s also a Dessert Contest – not only can festival-goers sample the dessert entries, but the winner will see his or her dessert featured on Hottie Hawg’s BBQ menu!
Tickets are available for $25.00 at the gate (children 6-12 are $10.00 and children under 12 are free).
