With the arrival of lovely fall weather in Atlanta (finally) what better way to celebrate fall and Halloween than in costume at Zoo Atlanta? Today’s the day – the final day to experience Boo at the Zoo at Zoo Atlanta this year! This annual Halloween festival is one of my favorites in the city – it’s family-friendly, it’s at the Zoo, and it’s…well…fun!
There’s tons going on at Boo at the Zoo! Besides exploring the Zoo and all it has to offer (which I don’t think can ever get old!), Boo at the Zoo offers a costume contest in three age groups: 11:30 – 4 and under; 12:30 – 5 to 9-year-olds; and 1:30 – 10 and up. There’s also a Hay Maze and Zoo Boo Town, with its meandering paths and magical creatures. In addition, there is a cell phone recycling center at Boo at the Zoo which helps to raise money for gorilla conservation – you’ll even receive an extra treat for being so generous!
Boo at the Zoo’s last day is today – Sunday, October 31, 2010 – from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. (Regular zoo hours are Monday-Friday: 9:30 AM-5:30 PM, ticket booths close at 4:30 PM Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 AM-6:30 PM, ticket booths close at 5:30 PM). You can get a $3.00 discount on General Admission (for up to 4 people) by bringing in any Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Fanta or Fanta Zero can or label – visit the website for complete details about ticket prices, discounts, and restrictions.
