Who doesn’t love an afternoon in the country? Anyone who toils the week away in the city longs for a getaway, a mini-break out of the hustle and bustle, away from the grind. Well, this weekend is your chance…
This weekend, foodies throughout the Atlanta area look forward to one of their favorite events of the year, Les Dames d’Escoffier International’s Afternoon in the Country. This annual fundraiser raises money to support Georgia’s Organic farming community and the scholarship fund for Women in the Culinary, Beverage and Hospitality Art.
This delicious food and wine extravaganza – Saturday, November 4, 2010 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM – features dozens of the Atlanta area and surrounding region’s chefs and restaurants, as well as fine wines and micro-brews. There’s also a pastry raffle to win amazing baked goods from some of the areas best pastry chefs at the Famous Cake Raffle and a huge, exciting silent auction – all to benefir Les Dames d’Escoffier! Since this is the 10th year of this incredible event, there are sure to be some surprises, as well! Appropriately nestled at the beautiful Serenbe community in southwest Atlanta, which was founded on the principles of sustainability and whose farm is certified organic, Afternoon in the Country is a unique opportunity for attendees to meet some of the areas most talented chefs, taste delicious food, wines and micro-brews, and get out and enjoy the fresh fall air. Take a hayride, bid on silent auction items, take in some fun Bluegrass music – all in support of Les Dames d’Escoffier International.
Tickets are $95.00 for adults and $35.00 for youths (ages 13-20; children 12 and under and free) and are available to purchase online. This event sells out, so be sure to purchase your tickets early. Additionally, you will need to print your tickets and bring them with you for admission, so be sure to do so before getting on the road.
