#281 – Beloved Broadway Musical “Annie” Playing This Week in Decatur – Starring Mary Stewart-Sullivan – Benefiting Curtains Up, Inc.


Most of you have probably heard of the world famous, beloved Broadway musical, Annie, but many of you may not have heard of the local theatre company producing it this week. Curtains Up, Inc. is a local nonprofit that mentors at-risk children to become confident and successful performers – this week, they are presenting Annie, the heart-warming, rags-to-riches story of Little Orphan Annie. curtains-up-atlanta-ga-annie-november-2010

The story of Annie‘s little star may just be as incredible as Annie’s own. Mary Stewart-Sullivan discovered a love of theatre with Curtains Up, Inc. in 2005 at the ripe old age of four. Earlier this year, she played the role of Jojo in Seussical the Musical with the Atlanta School of the Performing Arts. And then the unbelievable happened – Broadway called. Mary flew off to New York City to play the daughter of Tony Award Winner Norbert Leo Butz in Enron, A true story of false profits. Now she is back in Atlanta, where she is appearing this week as the title role in Annie.

You have four chances to see Mary Stewart-Sullivan as Annie and enjoy this delightful show – perfect for the beginning of the holiday season – starting tonight. Showtimes are: Monday, November 8 at 6:30 PM; Wednesday, November 10 at 6:30 PM; and Saturday, November 13 at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Tickets are just $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students – benefiting Curtains Up, Inc. The performances are taking place at Onstage Atlanta, located in Suburban Plaza in Decatur.
