#289 – “It’s Nice to be Nice” Continues Through This Week Benefiting Refugee Resettlement & Immigrant Services of Atlanta – Donate at Cypress Street Pint & Plate, Through Sunday, November 21, 2010
It’s Thanksgiving – a time to give thanks for our blessings, and also a time to give back to those in need, to those less fortunate than ourselves.
“It’s Nice To Be Nice” benefits Refugee Resettlement & Immigrant Services (RRIS) of Atlanta and is collecting donations to aid refugee families during this Thanksgiving holiday season – and you can help.
Simply bring your donations to Cypress Street Pint & Plate, located behind the Biltmore in Midtown, and then feel nice…just for being nice. It’s that simple.
A complete list of items – which includes all sorts of basic housewares items such as pots and pans, plates and glasses; bathrooms items like rugs, towels and washcloths; bedding, sheets, and towel sets; and wall clocks, irons, and more – can be found on the YELP! website, by clicking here. YELP! is also generously sponsoring this event.
As it says on the YELP! website: “RRISA is an absolutely awesome local charity that helps refugees and immigrants who’ve come to Atlanta in not-awesome circumstances (think Haitian earthquake victims and those fleeing war-torn countries) get set up with apartments and jobs.” The people they assist are in need of very basic items that many of us take for granted every day. What a great way to get into the holiday spirit of giving and help others!
What do you get in return (other than the wonderful feeling of having done something good for someone in need)? Bring your donations to Cypress Street Pint & Plate all this week, through Sunday, November 21, 2010, and you get an invitation to Cypress Street’s Thanksgiving Party, Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. As if you needed something to make you do some good – it’s just the icing on the cake!
