#310 – Founders Day Celebration this Weekend in Johns Creek – Parade and Santa Jam – Saturday, December 4, 2010
On December 1, 2006, the City of Johns Creek was officially incorporated, and the city’s annual Founders Day celebration has become a great way for the community to come together and celebrate the City, as well as the holiday season!
The weeklong Founders Day celebration brings the city together for a variety of activities and fun, culminating in the Founders Day Parade tomorrow – Saturday, December 4, 2010. Since the first anniversary of Johns Creek in 2007, the Founders Day parade has grown to include more than 80 units and thousands of participants, including a NASCAR racer, local high school clubs and bands, Shriner groups, and colorful floats from area businesses, organizations and neighborhoods.
Starting at 10:00 AM, the parade route runs down State Bridge Road between Kimball Bridge Road & West Morton Road in Johns Creek and is hosted by Johns Creek resident and Emmy Award-winning anchor of 11Alive news, Karyn Greer. Following the parade, you and your family can join Santa Claus at Johns Creek High School for Santa Jam from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Bring your camera to capture pics of Santa on his antique fire truck and World Financial Group’s #16 NASCAR car! There will also live music and entertainment, children’s activities including a moon bounce, refreshments for purchase and lots of fun!
