#321 – You MUST Check Out This Insanely Huge Holiday Display in Buckhead – Give it a Drive-By (it’s too cold to get out of your car!)

When I was a kid, one of my favorite things about the holidays was to drive around with my parents and see the light displays in our neighborhood – some were beautiful, some were overdone, some were downright tacky. I’ll let you make the call on this one…

Driving through north Buckhead last week, I came across a house that must truly be seen to be believed. While this may not technically be something “to do” in Atlanta, it’s the busy holiday season and who has time to attend an event every night? Instead, if you’re feeling stressed from the hectic holiday season, or if you need something to warm you up after this arctic cold snap we’ve been having, I recommend simply driving past this house – it will bring a smile to your face, give you a bit of holiday cheer…and make you wonder what the heck these people were thinking!

So here’s what I suggest: grab your friends and some hot cocoa and head on up to the corner of Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Winall Down Road (just about a mile or so from Phipps Plaza). Tonight – Thursday, December 14, 2010 – Santa will be there, too! (as advertised on a sign we saw in the yard this weekend – rightRandom? YES – but that’s what makes it fun! (NOTE: This is a private residence in a residential area, so of course, be courteous when parking and checking it out!)
