Looking for hand-crafted ice cream and sorbet that is manufactured right here in Atlanta? Perfect for your holiday parties, dinners or just, you know, for you to eat and enjoy?

Look no further than High Road Craft!

I met Keith, Hunter and Nicki at the Les Dames d’Escoffier’s Afternoon in the Country at Serenbe last month. We’d been “Twitter friends” for a few weeks prior and I was excited to meet them and sample their ice creams and sorbets, after exploring their oh-so-tempting flavors on their website. Not only did their flavors live up to what I imagined them to be (basically, dreamily delicious), but they were also some of the most creative ones I’ve had the pleasure of eating: think Burnt Sugar Bourbon, Caramelized Peach and Cardamom ice creams, and Blueberry Buttermilk, Citrus Ginger and Mulled Cider sorbets (just to name a few of my faves).

While High Road Craft is mainly a wholesaler (be sure to start asking in your favorite Atlanta-area restaurants if they serve High Road Craft ice cream and sorbet!), now you can have the chance to buy High Road Craft to enjoy at home! Saturdays – starting tomorrow, December 18, 2010 – from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, you can stop by the High Road Craft Factory Store, sample some select flavors and purchase some deliciousness to bring home.

Be ready to purchase a kind of large amount, though. Here’s the deal – make room in your freezer for 5-liter pans of ice cream (you’re purchasing as a wholesaler), but the benefit is, you’re also paying wholesale price: $40.00 for one 5-Liter pan or $75.00 for two giant 5-Liter pans!

You will need to follow High Road Craft on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook to get the low-down on the available flavors for Saturday open-to-the-public hours. The Friday before each Saturday they’re open, the High Road Craft crew will post the flavors that will be available for purchase. Tomorrow’s flavors are: Brown Sugar, Bourbon Burnt Sugar (anything with bourbon – delish!), Persian (saffron, pistachio, and rosewater), Hazelnut (chock-FULL of hazelnut pieces – amazing!), Cardamom, Cinnamon, Chocolate, Sweet Cream, Mulled Cider Sorbet, Pistachio, Chocolate Chunk, Fig, and Dr. Pepper. (My recommendations are, well, they’re all good, but the Persian, Cardamom and Bourbon Burnt Sugar are my faves!)

So, if you’re like me, you’re planning your holiday weekend menus – with Christmas next weekend and New Year’s Eve right around the corner, there’s lots to plan for! Why not include some gourmet, local Atlanta ice cream in those menus? Plan to stop by the High Road Craft Factory Store tomorrow between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM and check it out – sample a few flavors, bring a few home! And remember, SHOP LOCAL, Atlanta!
