#337 – Warm Up at Martinis & IMAX Tonight at Fernbank Museum…and a Chance to Get in FREE! Friday, January 14, 2010

If your DVR is empty, the thought of being stuck on your couch for one more evening (thanks to the now-melting ice and snow) has you frantic, and cabin fever is about to send you into a tailspin, it may be time for you to get out of the house and do something fun!

Fernbank’s fabulous Friday night offering – Martinis and IMAX – is on for tonight, Friday, January 14, 2011, and there’s even a chance for you to get in for FREE! Tonight’s live music is sure to heat up the museum atrium — Saxophonist Traci Wynn plays a variety of jazz styles inspired by music around the world. Sip your favorite martini under the great dinos of Fernbank and relax to some smooth jazz. And if you feel like it, catch a flick in the IMAX theatre. Tonight’s IMAX offerings feature three fabulous films to choose from: Journey into Amazing Caves at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, Greece: Secrets of the Past at 8:00 PM, and The Greatest Places at 10:00 PM.

In a special advertised on the Martinis and IMAX Facebook page, the first 100 people  in when the doors open at 6:30 PM who mention Facebook/Cabin Fever will get free cover charge to Martinis and IMAX (a $7.00 value). PLEASE NOTE: free admission only applies to the live music in the atrium – tickets for the IMAX film (or for entry if you aren’t one of the first 100) are $12 for adults, $11 for students and seniors and $7 for members…still, not a bad deal, especially if you’ve been housebound all week!

Personally, I’m eyeing Greece: Secrets of the Past – a movie about somewhere warm and Mediterranean is the perfect antidote to this frigid week! See you under the dinosaurs!
