#340 – Didn’t Get Enough of the Snow Last Week? Check Out Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park, Open Today and Fridays-Sundays Through March 6, 2011

If you didn’t get enough Snowcation last week during the Atlanta snow-and-ice storm spectacular, never fear! There’s more out there just waiting to be enjoyed!

Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain Park provides hours of family fun for all ages, with “acres of real snow [and] more than 20 slides”! When the snow falls in Atlanta, most of us think, Oh, brother – here come the icy roads/hours in traffic/shoveling my driveway/kids out of school/shut-down city. But when the snow falls at Snow Mountain you can think, here comes the fun/stress-free day of snowy adventure/the whoooooosh of wind past my ears as I fly down the giant, super-fantastic tubing hill, screaming with delight all the way!

Located on the lawn of Stone Mountain Park’s famous Laser Show, Snow Mountain blows out tons of fresh, real snow every day just for your family’s enjoyment and amazement! Snow Mountain features a 400-foot tubing hill in Avalanche Alley for a one-of-a-kind family tubing experience, snow pay areas for all ages, including your Little Angels (safe play for your smallest snow angels), and games like a snowball shotting gallery, snowman gallery to make your own snowman (or snowwoman), and igloo city, where you can build your own snow fort and create your own snow adventure! At the end of the day you can relax and warm up at SnoFire Point, curl up around a warm fire, roast a few marshmallows and enjoy looking back on your day of fun!

A few words of snow advice: remember, this is REAL snow, so be sure to wear warm, water-resistant clothing (ski pants are best – don’t wear jeans or you’ll freeze!) to avoid getting wet and cold really quickly. Don’t forget water-resistant shoes, as well as gloves and other winter essentials. Make the most of your day by staying warm and dry!

Snow Mountain is open Friday through Sunday, now through March 6, 2011, with special holiday hours today – Monday, January 17, 2011 and Monday, February 21, 2011. Snow-fun hours are 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. More detailed information about tickets and reservations, including how to purchase tickets online, are available online. All of your snow enjoyment essentials – like tubing gear and more – are included in your admission price, so don’t worry about bringing your own! Just bring yourselves in your warmest winter comfies and have a great time!
