#341 – Dine Out at Farm Burger in Decatur to Support Atlanta Community Food Bank Tonight – January 18, 2011
The Atlanta Community Food Bank Supper Club is a popular way for Atlantans to dine out for a cause on a monthly basis in support of the city’s largest food bank. The ACFB “currently distributes nearly two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month to more than 700 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia” – an amazing feat, any way you look at it. With such tremendous need to support, the Atlanta Community Food Bank is supported by local restaurants with the ACFB Supper Club, providing a way for the the community to come out and support ACFB, simply by dining out at some of the best eateries in the city.
Tonight’s Supper Club is at Farm Burger in Decatur. You can read about my first trip to Farm Burger here – if you haven’t been to Farm Burger yet, what better night to go than when you can also contribute to a great cause, like ACFB? Tonight – January 18, 2011 – 20 percent of your Supper Club tab will benefit Atlanta’s Table, the Food Bank’s prepared and perishable food rescue project. The Farm Burger menu is a true burger lover’s dream – with an unending list of fresh toppings, delicious side items like sweet potato fries and beer-battered onion rings that will knock your socks off, and my favorite menu items, the floats. I personally recommend the housemade ginger farmade float with vanilla ice cream (pictured), or if you’re in the mood for an adult float, I recommend either the Chocolate Stout or Banana Bread Beer.
I know you’re thinking about dinner tonight – perhaps you’re thinking that you don’t want to cook and you definitely don’t want to eat those leftovers from when you were snowed in last week. Now that the roads are clear and things are back to “normal”, why not head on down to Farm Burger, have a great burger and support the Atlanta Community Food Bank – you’ll be glad you did! (Just get there early – Farm Burger tends to have a line out the door, but don’t let that stop you! Just get in line, make new friends, and enjoy a great evening!)
