Sweet Treats for a Good Cause at Share Our Strength’s 4th Annual Great American Baking Contest Tonight – Wednesday, March 2, 2011
Share Our Strength is a national nonprofit organization with a lofty and worthy goal: to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. Their 4th Annual Great American Baking Contest is tonight – Wednesday, March 2, 2011 – and is the kickoff event for their 8th Annual Great American Bake Sale (read about last year’s Great American Bake Sale in Atlanta by clicking here).
Hosted by Q100’s Jenn Hobby and judged by some of Atlanta’s most recognizable chefs and food personalities, including Chef Todd Kazenske of Le Cordon Bleu, Mary Moore of The Cook’s Warehouse, and Pastry Chef Heather Hurlbert of Cherokee Town & Country Club and Bravo’s “Top Chef Just Desserts”, this fun night will highlight professional, amateur and child chefs and their sweet creations. Prizes include $500 for first place in the professional category and $250 for first place in the amateur, culinary student and children’s categories.
You are cordially invited to come and view the judging and enjoy a delectable dessert reception. Tickets are $25 for general admission beginning at 7:30 pm (a limited quantity of VIP admissions are also available for $35, which allows entrance into the event an hour earlier at 6:30 pm and a special reception). Proceeds benefit Share Our Strength. You can purchase tickets online by clicking here. It’s sure to be an exciting – and superbly sweet – night! Hope to see you there.
