bacon-by-sappymoosetree-on-flickrThere’s nothing in this world that makes me as happy as bacon. (Well, that may be a bit of an understatement…but not by much.) I mean, the salty goodness, the intoxicating smell, the tantalizing sizzle…what’s not to love?

That’s why we have Baconfest.

This year, Baconfest, the wildly popular annual event that serves as the major fundraiser for Dad’s Garage Theatre Company, is in it’s 11th porktacular year. You can enjoy bacon-y treats for five straight hours – celebrate with all types of porcine-themed festivities, live music, and the crowning of the Bacon King and Queen!

Baconfest is this Saturday, March 26, 2011, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Dad’s Garage is offering three tiers of ticket pricing, to be sure you can pick the pig that fits you best:

  • Portioned Porking: ($25 online, $35 phone/door): Admission to the festival, a fistful of game tickets, and three cups full of beer, bacon or both
  • Bottomless Bacon: ($50 online, $60 phone/door): Admission to the festival, unlimited game playing, and unlimited beer and bacon
  • Go Whole Hog!: Still not enough swine? For $50 more, attendees can upgrade from ‘Bottomless Bacon’ and ham it up with some serious style by getting access to whole pig roasted to perfection by P’cheen, several kegs of delicious high gravity beer courtesy of Wild Haven Craft Beers, and some exotically flavored bacon. Whole Hoggers also get a special bacon bib to keep the cracklins off their shirts!

Baconfest is an outdoor event, rain or shine, and takes place in the Dad’s Garage parking lot. It’s an ages 21+ event, so leave those little piglets at home!
