Goodbye gray skies, hello blue! Join all your faves from Happy Days – Richie, Potsie, Ralph Malph, and of course, the “king of cool” Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli in a new musical version of the favorite TV show. Presented by Jerry’s Habima Theatre, Georgia’s only theatrical company featuring actors with developmental disabilities, Happy Days – A New Musical runs through Sunday, April 10, 2011.
This family-friendly musical (in a 90-minute version) brings you back Milwaukee in 1959, as the gang comes together to try to save the famed drive-in malt shop and number one hangout, Arnold’s, which is in danger of demolition. They team up to save it with – what else? – a dance contest and a TV-worthy wrestling match. Complete with toe-tapping tunes, varsity sweaters, hula hoops and jukebox sock-hoppin’ fun, you’ll have as much fun in your seat as the actors are having on stage!
Currently in its 18th season, Jerry’s Habima Theatre was the 2007 recipient of the Spirit of Suzi Bass Award for its long-standing and consistent contribution to professionalism in Atlanta theatre. According to program, the participants of this special theater company achieve new levels of self-confidence, motivation, and socialization from the intensive three-month process of rehearsals and performances. This unique program provides a wonderful opportunity for developing new skills through a meaningful theater experience. What a unique and fun way to experience live theatre!
