The Fabulous Fox Theatre is one of my favorite places in Atlanta – not only does it play host to the best Broadway tours and serve as an amazingly intimate space to see a concert, but it’s the home of the Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival. Luckily for us, when the temperatures rise in Atlanta, we can head to one of our most recognizable landmarks for a great film on the biggest screen in Atlanta and some ice-cold air-conditioning!
The Fox has announced its line-up for June 2011 plus one July selection (July and August schedules will be announced at a later date) – so mark your calendars for these five fantastic films:
- The Social Network – Thursday, June 9 at 7:30 PM
- True Grit (2010 with Jeff Bridges) – Friday, June 10 at 7:30 PM
- Rango – Saturday, June 11 at 2:00 PM
- To Kill A Mockingbird – Saturday, June 11 at 7:30 PM
- Cat on a Hot Tin Roof – Tuesday, July 12 at 7:30 PM
Individual movie tickets are $8.00 each. Plus, for the evening movies, you can also plan to attend a pre-movie wine tasting at 5:30 PM for just $12.00 (wine tasting tickets are only valid with the purchase of a movie ticket for the same evening – total cost $20.00). Tickets are available at the Fox Theatre Box Office and through Ticketmaster, by calling 800-745-3000 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com. All tickets are general admission and seating is first-come/first-seated, so get there early to make sure you get a good seat – doors open one hour before the film. Plus if you get there early you can enjoy a sing-along with the Mighty Mo organ and a vintage cartoon!
