Mi Casa Su Casa Monthly Dinner Series at El Taco in Virginia Highland – July Dinner is Pacific Seafood
One of my favorite Mexican joints in Atlanta is The Original El Taco, one of Fifth Group Restaurants’ delicious eateries. Their monthly Mi Casa Su Casa dinner series continues next week, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM, with a celebration for your tastebuds of the delicious, authentic seafood you can only find in a sleepy little Pacific beach town. Guests are seated family-style around a huge, festive table on El Taco’s lively patio. The cost is $30.00 per person and includes multiple courses, plus dessert. Seating is very limited, and you do need reservations – call 404.873.4656 to reserve your seat.
I had the pleasure of attending June’s Mi Casa Su Casa dinner, and I can tell you, it’s well worth the $30 price tag. Below is a photo blog of many of the courses (the photos can tell the story much better than my words could). Intrigued? Mark your calendar for next Tuesday, July 12, and take a seat at El Taco’s table!
(NOTE: These photos/menu items were from June’s dinner – July’s dinner will feature a completely different menu.)
- Tacos de Canasta – black beans, poblano chiles, chicharones, ahagado salsa
- Cabaza Taco – white corn tortillas, braised beef tongue and cheek, onion, cilantro, arbol and roasted tomato salsa
- Agua Fresca – jamaica or tamarindo
Full disclosure: The Original El Taco graciously hosted me for this event and my bill was comped by the house. However, all opinions expressed here are my own.
