Join Me as I Judge the 2nd Annual Battle of the Burgers in Virginia Highland Benefiting Embraced – Saturday, October 1, 2011
I love hamburgers. From plain old regular burgers to fancy-schmancy gourmet burgers, traditional beef burgers to exotic venison, and everything in between. It’s a good thing…because I’m judging the second annual Battle of the Burgers this Saturday, October 1, 2011.
Battle of the Burgers brings together 25 local restaurants, as they compete for the title of Best Burger in Atlanta in two categories – Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. YOU can be a part of the judging by voting for your favorite burger; the “People’s Choice” award voting will take place via text message, so be sure to bring your mobile phone to the event! Additionally, each restaurant has the option to enter a meat burger, a meatless burger, or both, so there is sure to be something for everyone (vegetarians included!).
Participating restaurants include: American Roadhouse; Atkins Park, Cafe 640, Crave, Cypress Street Pint & Plate, DBA Barbecue, Deckard’s American Tavern, Diesel Filling Station, Einstein’s , Farm Burger, Grindhouse Killer Burgers, Highland Tap, Hudson Grille, Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub, Midtown Tavern, Murphy’s, The Nook, New York Butcher Shoppe, Park Tavern, Strip, SoHo Restaurant, Taqueria del Sol, US Cafe, Village Burger, and Warren City Club. To meet the participants and find out about their restaurants, as well as see their fun introductory videos (with a healthy dose of smack talk thrown in for good measure), click here!
Battle of the Burgers helps to support Embraced, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that collects and shares gently-used medical equipment with individuals in need – both locally and globally. Their mission is to ensure that all people have access to quality orthopedic and prosthetic devices that improve the quality of their lives.
