Atlanta Ballet and Meehan’s Public House in Sandy Springs Honor Music Legend Johnny Cash with a Special Dinner – March 15, 2012

For your listening pleasure, while you read this post!

Johnny Cash is one of my all-time favorites. When I was a kid, he lived in my hometown, Port Richey, Florida, next door to my parents’ best friends, in the house that his wife, june Carter Cash, inherited from her parents on the Pithlachascotee River (we had to learn to spell that in elementary school – whew!). I have no recollection of him from that time, but I do enjoy the stories that my parents still tell.

It’s exciting, then, that the Atlanta Ballet is presenting a special performance called “Man in Black” from March 23-25, 2012. The country music legend has inspired choreographer, James Kudelka to couple the classic sounds of Johnny Cash with imaginative modern dance.

The Atlanta Ballet has partnered with Meehan’s Public House in Sandy Springs to bring you the “40 Shades of Green” dinner on March 15, 2012. Guests who attend the dinner will  receive 50% off tickets to the ballet and an opportunity to meet the talented dancers performing in the unique performance. The special menu is below and is five courses with beer pairings (including dessert), each inspired by and named for a Johnny Cash tune.

“40 Shades of Green”
Chilled cucumber and honey dew melon soup with mascerated blueberries

“Green, Green, Grass of Home”
Char grilled Romaine heart with basil oil roasted tomatoes, asiago herb crisp, Caesar dressing

I’m very excited that people still love Johnny Cash, and that’s why we created a new tribute band in Atlanta called Johnny Cash Now. Our first gig is coming up May 4th at the Holly theater in Dahlonega, and we’re hoping to team up with Meehan’s in the future for their next Cash celebration. Until then, check out our videos at
